Hi, I’m T.K. Johnson

I’ve been the Director of Photography on more than a dozen short films & music videos; I’ve been the Colorist on nearly 30 short films, music videos, and corporate videos; and I’ve Produced several short films and music videos, with a few in some form of pre-production right now.

In addition, I frequently accept positions within the rest of the Camera Department, so if you’re in need of a Camera Operator, Camera Assistant, or Media Management; I may be interested.

There’s not a doubt in my mind that my purpose is to create, the question is…is it with YOU?

TESTIMONIALS

“T.K. is a phenomenal cinematographer. While working on Find Him, he did not spare attention to detail and a passion for the project. If there is something specific I learned about him as a DP; it's that for him, it's not about having all the answers, it's about putting in the time to investigate and practice unique solutions that cater to each project, scene, and shot individually: it is a personal touch to the story.”

Anjini Taneja Azhar, Director / Writer / Producer, Anjini Azhar Films

“I witnessed T.K. step onto the set of the feature film, They Reach, as an unassuming “assistant camera,” and he rocked our world. Not only did T.K. arrive with a wide-range of filmmaking skills hiding under his friendly exterior, but he jumped at the chance to assist. Before long, he was wielding Camera B with expertise and skill.  His creativity shines like that of a feature-film professional with years of experience, yet he’s relatively young in this biz. He’s got an artistic eye that few have. With confidence, I can gladly recommend.”

Bry Troyer, Producer They Reach

“T.K. is not only a skilled cinematographer, but an adept collaborator, taking all departments needs in mind. Here’s how he’s different: he truly cares. You want this man on your team. The heartbeat on his logo is real and vividly beating.”

Duncan Star-Boszko, Actor / Production Designer / Writer, Star Boszko Productions

“T.K. was invaluable to the development of the visual style and tone of Concealer. His camera work stirred more stories within me and gave life to images that without him, would still only exist in my head. What I love most about being on set with T.K. is his openness towards the ideas of others.”

Evan Miglorie, Director / Writer / Camera Assistant

“T.K. is a dedicated professional who is aspiring to better himself as a filmmaker and succeeds without hesitating to learn more. We look forward to working with him more in the future and can't recommend him enough for your next project!"

Justin Robert Vinall. Director / Producer, Next Floor Entertainment

“I’ve hired T.K. on several film projects, and am always overjoyed with what he brings to the table. He’s brilliant with imagery and cameras. I consistently hire T.K.  for his talent, his work ethic, his professionalism and the sheer fun he brings to sets, while simultaneously creating outstanding visual stories.”

Lorraine Montez, Producer / Partner, The Seattle Film Summit

“T.K. is a young filmmaker moving quickly towards mastery of his craft. He puts everything into his projects, and it so clearly pays off. He is always listening, using the passion of himself and others to make each and every film he works on special. He's an excellent mind to have on the team, and brings a unique and powerful perspective.”

Primrose Breit, Director / Writer

"Working side-by-side with T.K. is like cinematic velvet. As the writer and director on Old Blue Eyes Ain’t Nothin’, he wanted to centralize on my vision for the short while also suggesting ways to sharpen and to amplify it. Collaboration is the key to success on any project, and T.K. is readily equipped to be a top-of-the-line team player.”

Shelby Smout, Producer / Director / Writer, Gobsmacked Pictures

“T.K. is one of the coolest people that came into our circle in 2018. This kid has it all; an incredible eye and talent. But my favorite quality: kindness to his team mates and coolness under pressure. He will always be a welcome presence on my sets!”

Ben Andrews, Producer / Founder of The Seattle Film Summit

“I had the pleasure of working with T.K. on my short film Period.  I had some reservations because he is young but don’t let his boyish looks and youth fool you. He proved to be a highly skilled, responsible, creative and hard-working, cinematographer. As a fairly non-technical director, his broad knowledge of the camera was invaluable. Technical prowess aside, his strongest skill is his ability to collaborate, not just with me as the director, but with the entire crew. An ability to find creative solutions, a genuine collaborative spirit, a strong work ethic, and a clear passion for the cinematic arts make T.K. the kind of person everyone should have on their production.”

Debra Pralle, Director / Writer / Producer

“T.K. is one of the most professional and dedicated crew members I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Whether working with him as a director or under his leadership as an AC, T.K. is always first on my list to call! He has extensive knowledge in pre and post work, and is sure to give his all complete with a smile. You need him on set!”

Emily Haugstad, Director / Camera Assistant

"T.K. is the kind of person you want working on your project. From beginning to end he gives 100% of his creativity to a film; constantly looking for ways to make the project the best it can be."

Jeremy McClelland, Director / Writer / Actor

“I've worked with T.K. on a variety of different films over the last 4 years. One of the biggest joys has been watching him grow into each of the camera roles, from 2nd AC to now a well sought after Director of Photography. He invests the same amount of respect, dedication and professionalism for each role on every set. As we each have grown into different film roles over the years, I find his enthusiasm for filmmaking motivating and inspiring.”

Kira Sipler, Writer / Producer / Director, Jouska Road Productions

“TK is a top-notch DP. He accurately gets your vision and has the experience to produce it.”

Nicky Smit, Director / Producer

“I loved working with T.K. as my assistant camera person on Jameson.  He kept the image sharp while working in a fluid situation with a lot of handheld work and few rehearsals.  I’d work with him again anytime. Great attitude as well.”
